Como nos explican en Wyoming.news Wyoming proposes new model for online education:
The new models also would allow students enrolled full time in online schools to take single courses offered only at brick-and-mortar schools, such as band, welding or art.
The recommended model is outlined in a report submitted Oct. 15 by the Department of Education to the Legislative Service Office.
The state Department of Education created the task force under direction from the Legislature.
Enrolled Act 101 charged the department with creating a task force, chaired by Superintendent of Public Instruction Jillian Balow, that would evaluate the state's current model of distance education and recommend changes to improve the system.
The task force first recommends restricting distance education in Wyoming to online courses and renaming it "virtual education." The report shows that no students used videoconferencing for courses in the 2014-15 school year, and only seven students used correspondence courses.
