Qué es el ODL:

The Mission of the Office of Digital Learning

Recent innovations in teaching methods and educational technologies, combined with developments in open access, have created an exciting opportunity to rethink the learning environment for students at MIT and around the world. Using digital methods to transfer information outside the classroom will enable professors and students to spend more time together building the knowledge, attitudes and skills that students need to become great thinkers and doers. Building on these trends, the mission of the Office of Digital Learning is to help the MIT community lead the world in education by creating, using and leveraging learning technologies and digital instructional content.

The Values of the Office of Digital Learning

Our core values:

A love of teaching.

MIT faculty are passionate about teaching! We believe that new digital approaches to educational technology and course content can catalyze this passion and re-ignite faculty creativity in education.

A pedagogy-first approach.

Let our educational goals and desires drive the technology, and not the other way around.

A focus on quality.

MIT courses must be able to retain the same intellectual challenge independent of the delivery medium or technological setting.

A commitment to openness.

MIT seeks to disseminate knowledge; this is accomplished through the open sharing of information, data, and code whenever possible.

A focus on learning research.

Leading the world in education requires an understanding of the foundations and mechanics of learning. Research on digital learning is essential to our mission.
